OK started inetd , and can telnet to local host BUT, before
switching security levels last night I was using xinetd.
In /etc/services I have a entry for ltelnet on an obscure port
with ipchains set to accept on this port, which was working.
the telnet file in /ect/xinetd.d/telnet
the executeable pointed to /usr/sbin/node
and a new /etc/xinetd.d/ltelnet points to /usr/sbin/in.telnetd
all files are rwx for root......
Thanks for the train of thought there Rusty.. went and had a look at the
symlinks to the files in rc.d....not many left !!!!!!
SORTED Thanks.. so the major differences on security level are in rc.d
