Gerry,
Could it be that you are trying to run it but without the proper permissions? Maybe if
you fire up
a konsole and use the command prompt:
# su # to log in as root
# menudrake & # to fire it up but not take your prompt away
Of course, if you were to start up X as root, you wouldn't have to do this, but i
think that is
not recommended (too easy to screw something up permanently).
As for the bit about posting only relevant info: I agree with you on the one hand, but
on the
other hand you have to keep in mind that not everyone has read everything already, or
they don't
remember what it was that they read. I sometimes find it helpful to be able to
reference back to
what the thread has been saying. Often times the context goes deeper than a few lines
of the
most-recently-replied-to message.
