I suggest uninstalling the supplied WINE rpm and installing the Codeweavers
version of WINE just for the nifty GUI configuration tool.
The homepage is at http://www.codeweavers.com/technology/wine/
It's an easy install as long as you remember to have itcl installed. The X11
contribs should also be installed so WINE can display error messages.
Either way, . . .
WINE doesn't seem to like WinME at all, but Win 95 and 98 seem to do just
fine. You can even install WINE without having Windows installed at all (but
you may want to have an installation handy to copy some dll's over to the
fake Windows directory).
During the setup (and in you wine.conf file), you will see you drive
definitions. By habit, I always set up my CD-ROM as drive R:\, so to install
a program from a CD that uses setup.exe, I would enter on the command line:
wine r:\setup.exe
