Don't upgrade.  Much better to do a new install on another
partition.  Then you will have both 7.2 and 8.0 available at boot
time and can move your customisation, etc across to 8.0 at your
leisure.   A full installation of Mandrake 8.0 can take up to a 3GB
partition.  If that forces you into buying a new second hard disk, it
is still the most prudent approach.
