I've recently purchased for my colleagues three more (more advanced) Kodak cameras and they all seem quite happy with them (I'm the only linux user..) Kodak cameras usually appear quite prominently in gphoto lists. There are MANY other excellent cameras out there, but I've only tried Kodak and a very early model Olympus which was also very nice.
