I do not understand the tone of this email. "Lucky" was our (me and my friends) experience with Linux. It was hit or miss at the start since we did not know anything about Linux at that point in time. Our hardware was varied. If something worked then it worked, if something did not then we were powerless(back then). Some gave up because nothing worked and they did not want to go on, but some lucky ones and some some die hards stayed on (includes me).
I'm happy I stayed on. You may interpret this informal email survey anyway you want. It's an FYI.
