It's always difficult to fathom the original intent in E-Mail messages as we are missing the cues that can often differentiate one thing from another.
Thus I took you telling the person you replied to, that he was "lucky" as a passive indication of displeasure or frustration. Hence the "tone" of my message, since there seemed to be an apparent predisposition to specific results.
