Well how about a challenge then,,,? try getting ssh round the firewall
here, you have to telnet to the proxy server, before establishing a link
to where ever by telnet, and what about the people who have to use
unencripted protocols, just so gov. depts. can see what the're sending,
even worse are some users of certain networks , who are some damn thick
that telnet is rocket science to them.
It may not be the best protocol to use , but its here to stay for a long
time.
The only thing I use it for is monitoring my machines at home, and that
I dont need to login as root, so I never send a root password.
telnet is just like women, a pain in the butt but it has its uses.
