Title: RE: [expert] problem with linux

There's a thought. I totally suck as a programmer (I still might 0wNz at Atari Basic tho), but maybe I could give some feedback on the projects, tweaks, etc...

Guess I'll start there.

Maybe you should start or help an exisiting open source project based around
this sort of thing. Thats why all this linux software exists, people have a
need, and they satisfy it themselves. Ive worked on open source projects, and
this has always been my motiviation. Youd be suprised how much you can
contribute, even if your not a great programmer. Sound apps (especially in
games) are always hard for programmers, as we dont really know much about
sound, and just helping some programmers who need some information might be
enough to get some of these features implemented in existing open source
projects. I persoannally (as a console games developer primarily) have never
written my own music engine for a game, and as far as writing music goes, ive
always been a big fan of mod trackers, like soundtraker and the amiga one
whos name ive completely forgotten.

Just a thought,

Tom
