I had the same problem and found my cdrom was wearing out and not reading data correctly. I installed a new cdrom and it was a perfect install with no errors..
cdrom's can last only so long and can wear out or over heat and cause it to not read data correctly.. cdrom's are getting pretty cheap and maybe you need to get another one..
