Randy, and et al, the owner of this tread is asking about a "peer to peer"
network, and makes no mention of having a Windoze box on that network.
Therefore, Samba is not an option. Samba is only for connectivity between
UNIX (Linux) and a machine running some version of a Windows' OS. NFS is
the way to go for a network consisting of Linux boxes. Robert, NFS can be
set up to meet the needs you enumerated in your original post. As for as
the network topology is concerned, you may change from a "client/server"
network to a "peer to peer" network simply by changing some hardware. The
only change would be to use a " cross-over" cable but why would you want to
do this? Client/server networking is so much more efficient when compared
to peer to peer networking.
