Nope, not at all and in fact I totally agree.
I may have read into the posters message something that wasn't there.
What I was doing was pointing out that SAMBA "will" work Linux to Linux and 
in the case of someone "totally new" to networking it might be easier to set 
up... <I don't think so, but others may>..
