Postfix (and email on Linux in general) is one of the "black holes" in
my personal knowledge base.

I thought I was getting the idea, but your question has totally confused
me. Does postfix to postfix mail delivery work for you on any other
computer -- I would have thought that something like fetchmail (on one
computer) would be required to get mail from postfix (on the other
computer). (And, to send mail in the other direction, you'd need
fetchmail on the second computer to get email from postfix on the first
computer.)

Can anybody clarify for me? Specifically:
   * Can postfix on one computer exchange email with postfix on another
computer? I guess the computer sending the mail would initiate the
transaction? If you know, which ports are used? IIRC, ports 25 and 119
are relevant, does email go from port 25 on the sending computer to port
119 on the receiving computer, or what?
   * If postfix can exchange email between computers, under what
circumstances do you need fetchmail?

Thanks,
Randy Kramer
