I would assume that supermount is still working/workable in the
mandrake 2.4.17 kernel. I wouldn't know since I couldn't get any of
them to run or boot properly on my laptop (kernel panics or
pcmcia/sound problems). Supermount is still one of those patches that
mandrake adds but which is not in the base kernel. I built and
installed a kernel.org 2.4.17 kernel, which DOES work almost perfectly
on my laptop - and it doesn't have the option of supermount.

Now if I could just get the power down to work...I've rebuilt it a
couple times with different power management settings but it still wont
automatically power off after shutdown.

I turned OFF all acpi (apci?) power management stuff but left most of
the apm stuff on. Do I NEED the apci (acpi?) stuff on to get
auto-power off on shutdown? I'm willing to rebuild my kernel yet one
more time but I'll cry while it is going on.
