I find this a pain, when you cut from a "Gnome" app and you cannot past into a "KDE". > I'm tired of hostile "help lists" that love nothing more than to flame > anyone who dares to have a contradictory opinion. With some things, this is a pain, but on the most part, I have found other software that will do the job, th is one reason I keep a window$ machine around. The 1394 support under linux has been non-existant for me, my PCMCIA card has issues and I haven't the time to patch and recompile the kernel to play with this. > I'm tired of seeing an application with possibilities dissapear because > the developer graduated, and got a job. Or a business accounting package, > or a decent CD Label Printing Package. or.... ..but, you also have a full office package ($400+ on the other side of the fence), the ability to run a decent server, on the other side of the fence "oh did you say server? Just deposit large sums of money here and we'll sell you the same CD with a different silk screen". If you don't need StarOffice 6, OpenOffice is almost the same thing, and free. On the M$ side, is $99 to upgrade to XP home, oh, you wanted to net work your computer, then it's $199 for XP pro to get the un-crippled networking. > Ok, yep, I'll keep running it, because I like it. No need for flames, everybody has a right to their opinion. I prefer to think of my membership and distro fees going to the greater good, yeah it may cost me $300 bucks a year, but I think of it as money well spent. I'll spend the money on something anyway, so it might as well be a good cause. -- ...Rob ===================================================================== Robert Goshko Axis Computer Consulting Services, Inc President Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada http://www.axis-dev.com/ Supporting the Revolution In Your World ===================================================================== Registered Linux User #260513 11:39pm up 1 day, 13:26, 2 users, load average: 1.63, 1.54, 1.56
