Mine, also has a bunch of *.map files, but it also includes seven *.pwli files all beginning with en- (for English) and having aspell somewhere in their name. I assume these are the actual dictionaries for English (British, Canadian and American). If you have aspell installed, you might try uninstalling it and re-installing it to see if it places the files there.
