I'm using Radeon VIVO 64MB in 8.2 and can't complain...
Thus I had get ati2 drivers from

http://gatos.sourceforge.net

and install them after instructions...Haven't tested much with games
but Return to castle of wolfenstein seems to work fine...

And here's my "glxgears"

Loading required GL library /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.2
4465 frames in 5.0 seconds = 893.000 FPS
4932 frames in 5.0 seconds = 986.400 FPS
4933 frames in 5.0 seconds = 986.600 FPS
4933 frames in 5.0 seconds = 986.600 FPS
4919 frames in 5.0 seconds = 983.800 FPS

So not bad?
