That brings me to another question.... Are there perl 5.6.1 rpms for mdk9???
5.8 has some issues, particularly in the fact that it breaks some apps like SpamAssasin... I setup amavis-new and SpamAssasin on my mail servers, and they have issues if perl is 5.8. I know I could install from tarball, but I like having it all in the RPM database... (including as many of the modules I need as possible.) Is there any reason to think the 8.2 perl rpms wouldn't work?? what would break if I swapped to 5.6.1 in mdk9??? any thoughts guys?? rgds frank -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Theo Brinkman Sent: Thursday, 3 October 2002 12:33 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [expert] apache2 From what I've heard, a lot (most) of the 3rd party modules for Apache haven't been ported to 2.0 yet. That means it's probably not a good idea to make it the default just yet. - Theo Franki wrote: >Hi guys... > >Have any of you rolled out a web server using mdk9 and apache 2 (which is >apparently an optional rpm from mdk) > >Redhat 8 mention that apache2 is their default web server.. is there a >reason that MDK didn't choose it??? > > >As long as static HTML, and mod_perl as well as php work as expected,, then >apache2 would probably be fine.. > >but since i don't know its specifics, I figured I'd ask if anyone else had >any experiance... > > > >rgds > >Franki > > > > >------------------------------------------------------------------------ > >Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft? >Go to http://www.mandrakestore.com > >
