There is one thing I like about Redhat's latest despite the brouhaha about
it...the compatibility integrations of gnome and kde (try something similar
Mandrake!). I would LOVE for my gtk/gnome apps to theme properly with my
KDE. I can't say I like the Redhat blue-whatever theme (I friggin hate/am
tired of the boring old blue-based themes). I would also LOVE for both my
gtk and kde apps to ALL antialias their fonts without conflict. KDE on my
8.2 system looks great with AA but every gnome/gtk app is butt-ugly with the
historically crappy linux blocky fonts.

Redhat is right in this issue. A user, particularly a new user, should get a
consistent look and feel from ALL their apps by default. That is a basic UI
design DO. Different look, feel, behavior for each app is a MAJOR DON'T. So,
go one better than Redhat and make several different unified themes for
integrating gnome and kde instead of the one, but still (as with Redhat)
leave the option for people to break proper UI design and stick a different
look/feel on each app/class.
