Yes this is a new "fresh" install of 9

Here is the output of your request...

[root@mrroboto root]# mount -a
mount: /dev/sda4 is not a valid block device

With a "new" entry for the zip in /etc/fstab

Do not use either ide=floppy or ide=scsi.

If this is a clean install of 9.0, not an upgrade,
edit your /etc/fstab.
Remove the existing entry, if any, for your zip and replace it with
this:

/dev/sda4 /mnt/zip auto user 0 0

Use mount -a or reboot your system.

Put a disk in the drive, issue mount /mnt/zip and you should be able to
access it.
