Here's mine:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] dmcglone]$ cat /etc/sysconfig/network
HOSTNAME=Buddy
NETWORKING=yes
FORWARD_IPV4=false

Also see:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] dmcglone]$ cat /etc/hosts
127.0.0.1               localhost eweb.central

I never had a problem setting my hostname with Red Hat, but since I switched 
to Mandrake, some things are just so different.

With Red Hat, the hostname was set in /etc/hostname

on mandrake as I've learned is in /etc/sysconfig/network.

Thats why I had to ask. : - )
