RedHat also uses /etc/sysconfig/network:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# rpm -q redhat-release
redhat-release-7.3-1
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# grep HOST /etc/sysconfig/network
HOSTNAME="www.mrball.net"

And before anybody bitches, this is a virtual machine that I purchase
for my colocation services. I didn't have a choice on the OS. I
offered to assist with making Mandrake available as well, but was told
no thank you.

    Hey, I'm perfectly reasonable once you realize I'm right.
