Mainly I want to capture from the old Hi8 analogue camcorder tapes, and some stuff that I have on vhs tapes that will never be available on dvd. Very little of it would be as long as a full-length film. A lot of it is holiday stuff and the grandchildren when they were small. All of this is v4l, I think.
I have the audigy card with 1394, so using this box to capture is an option when we get a new camcorder, though this is my main box. I could leave it working overnight without problems, but I wouldn't want it tied up to that extent during the day. Alternatively, I could put a 1394 card onto the new box, which will be almost a dedicated box. Anne -- Registered Linux User No.293302 Have you visited http://twiki.mdklinuxfaq.org yet?
