I did get a USB cd burner (by IoMega) to work under 9.0. There was some
USB-scsi hack which enabled it, details of which I forget. The drive was
however pretty unreliable, and sizzled itself out a month or two back.

Offtopic, but have you seen the brown blotches they started splicing into
movies? Supposedly they help them identify the spool/theater, and are
thus able to track down projectionist camcorder pirates. But it is
analagous to an artist putting an enlarged bar code in the middle of his
painting so as to be able to track down photographers who reproduce his
work. Craziness.
