Well, I bought a pioneer DVD-R106 a couple of weeks ago and it works out
of the box with LM9.2 (haven't tried it with LM9.1). Here in the UK you
can find it for GBP 107.98 (incl. VAT)

This is the first piece of hardware I bought that I tried first in Linux
and worked 1st time! Backed up 4.4Gb of data yesterday on-the-fly in 16
minutes. So I'm a happy bunny :) Actually, a really really really happy
bunny <g>
Also plays all regions with ogle, mplayer, etc from plf.
