1. Doesn't RH have to make the source available? I thought that was the deal with GPL.

Saw the big RH booth at the LWC&E in Frankfurt last week. Lots of suits with red hats crawling around, jabbering with other suits. They had many small demo points for the various offers and Red Hat Linux products.
There was NOT ONE SINGLE demo point of a normal desktop Linux distribution. It was enterprise all over. Not even a demo point for Fedora!
Thinking back to last years LWC&E here I remember lots of normal visitors crowded at the RH stand and RH giving away demo CDs for the hunter-gatherers. Or even this year's LinuxTag it was the same picture. Even some guys running around in shirtsleeves, No Jacket Required.
All this has changed now.
It's sad in a way. You could always point out from where we came and what a long way we've gone since then.
