Its the German equivalent of plc, limited or whatever.
According to Acronym Finder (www.acronymfinder.com) it is a contraction of Aktiengesellschaft, which is a German Stock listed corporation.
Isn't (wasn't) SuSE privately held? Wouldn't that make it a GmbH?
(Which, btw, is Gesellschaft mit beschrÃnkter Haftung - company with limited liability.)
