Bill, 

First and foremost, the Invader chassis is built to be the lightest possible
and uses current technology/design to attain that goal. Your Red Devil is an
1988 and used the older technology available at the time for the build
process. There is no way you can compare the two :-). 

Further, if you still have the original rear setup, by converting to the 4
link, you can lose a great deal of weight cutting out all that unnecessary
tubing :-). That is where you should begin the weight loss diet.

The original chassis on my car is an older 1988 Red Devil, but a long time
ago, I converted to the 4 link. My car weighs in at about 590-600# ready to
compete.

Anyone out there be able to give me a clue why my 88 Red Devil is 85 lbs
heavier than the latest QRE Invader? My car even has the lighter Kawi
engine. Someone please point me in the right direction. I autocross only,
will probably never road race due to limited funds.
