We can make minimum weight with a 200 lb driver in the Novakar or Rakavon. My 1st long wheel base Novakar weighed 714 lbs with me in it & I weighed 156 lbs at the time. It can be done with a simple design. The lightest part on a car is the one that isn't there. Simplicate & add lightness.

It seems a large percentage of us are "normal sized" adults in the 190-210 weight range. It is nearly impossible for most of us to make minimum weight of 800 pounds. In the interest of fair competition, it seems that we should try to get the minimum set to a point that most of us can make. I am by no means "over-weight" physically, but still come in a full 30 pounds over the minimum on a good day as I am 6'2" tall, 203 pounds. The only way I could loose weight, would be too allow muscle mass to go away. I don't consider this to be a healthy option. Yes I could spend tons of money adding titanium bolts and carbon fiber, but it just seems like it would make more since to have a little more breathing room in the weight classification. I always seem to see really small jockey-like figures standing on the podium, and it is already starting to frustrate me.
