Answers or just my guesses, If you prefer...

"How much wheel travel is needed?"

One needs not just bump travel until the car bottoms from cornering or braking, but more still to accommodate a bump at the SAME time under just the tire. I would not think that all that much more than ride height bump travel is needed however.

"Significant damping difference in different kinds of rubber at same Durometer"----Yup, some anyway

"Do the cans get hot?" Yup. the more damping the hotter-shouldn't have too many meltdowns in Solo, however. Maybe the road guys can comment. There just isn't THAT much damping, so I'm guessing they don't melt often in that useage either.

"...is the rubber " compressible" at all or do we just basically deform it, squishing it around into different shapes?" Yup to both

I sent this to the list a few weeks ago....
Got no feedback.........

Been thinking about the option for larger suspension
"pucks" and it got me wondering, how much wheel
travel is needed? I realize it varies depending on
how rough the track is. I look at formula fords
( Cmods) with $4000 dollars worth of shock/springs
on them running as low as my car....maybe 1.5 in
of "bump" travel avail. and wonder if I really want
anymore most of the time.

2nd question/idea is regarding the hysterises of
the rubber. Is it possible to have the same hardness
( durometer ) and yet have a significant damping
difference in different kinds of rubber?

I've asked before and never got any replies, but
is heat an issue on a bumpy road course...do
the cans get hot?

Last for now...is the rubber " compressible" at all
or do we just basically deform it, squishing it around
into different shapes?
Looking for ideas
Thanks
