Dave, There were 15 F500s at the Sprints, equal-largest car count for the class this year. But there were 14 at another race, as well as 12-13 at others. Besides, the Sprints are a big car count influencer for a number of classes, not just F500. If you've read the thread I started on the Sports Racer Forum you probably noticed that a number of classes are down sharply from last year, so F500 is not the only class struggling.
F1000 may compete in future for drivers with F500, but the truth is that there are plenty of F500s out there to maintain a healthy class. People aren't bringing them to the track, pure and simple, and that can't be blamed on F1000 (not that I think you are).
