Warning! There's a new rookie moving up to National racing next year, after just finishing her 6 races (2 schools+2+4) to qualify for a national license. I've had the pleasure (and pain) of racing with this racer for my last four races at Nelson Ledges. Why the warning? Well she is fast, talented, and fearless all the while quiet and unassuming, but don't let her cute smile and friendly manner fool you, she is serious and determined. On a cold and damp day, October 21, she posted a 1:10.269! That's only 1.871 off the NL's track record set by Doug Marsh in May of 2004. Who is this mystery racer? Well she comes from good stock. Her brother is also a very talented driver and her father is fastidious about car set up. She is also very a friendly and nice person, just like her brother and father. Welcome Christina Libecco to F500.
I for one am glad she is moving up to National level racing and leaving the region stuff to old guys like me. Good luck, Christina. And the next time I wave, it's because I'm cheering for you.
