The original Minis had rubber springs but no shocks (I had one) they then added shocks about 2 years later & then always had shocks after that.

The Mooney M20E I got my commercial license and a lot of my instrument time in had (and still has) - are you ready? - RUBBER PUCKS for main gear suspension. But it uses four of them stacked up. But my F500 is a heck of a lot easier to slow down, come in a bit hot and that Mooney would float for what seemed to be forever; considering the strip I flew out of was only 2460 feet long...
