Lee, You have to keep in mind that automotive clear protects the color underneath it from those rock chips and fading. I do not road race ( I Solo) , but I would bet that a 2 stage paint job would last a couple of years, unless you have a big crash. If you are doing a lot of abrasive driving, then single stage would save you some work and money. Bill Schmidt 88 Red Devil kawi (collision repair specialist)
>>> Lee Tilton <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 11/15/06 4:56 PM >>> My body is all primed and ready for paint. I have painted cars before using base/clear. That seems like overkill for something that is going to get rock chipped, etc. What is everyone using out there? Are you protecting the leading edges of the sidepods with anything? ________________________________ FormulaCar Magazine - A Proud Supporter of Formula 500 The Official Publication of Junior Formula Car Racing Subscribe Today! www.formulacarmag.com or 519-624-2003 _________________________________ _______________________________________________ F500 mailing list - [email protected] To unsubscribe or change options please visit: http://f500.org/mailman/listinfo/f500 *** Please, DO NOT send unsubscribe requests to the mailing list! ***
