Like most things, if you have the equipment and experience, not too bad......if not, send it to a pro. We used to always recheck the shafts before they went back in, found a few with unacceptable runouts.
I found a pro within 1.5 hour drive from my place, so I think I'll make arrangements to have him do this over winter.
Did the loose flywheel damage the keyway or taper on the crank? Screw up any of the coil windings on the stator?
The halfmoon keyway cannot be re-used because the edges are beat up a bit; for the rest everything looks OK. I guess I got that off just in time to prevent destroying the whole thing.
Next year is bound to be a better car year, right? After all, I know all about these engines now that I've had mine apart 4 times. I think it was Tom Buckman's wife who told me how his first year was spent with endless frustration and very little driving too.
