Depends on what you think is adequate. It is a two inch MINIMUM. I had two
inches, but I could envision a way that I could be upside down and stretching
the belts allowing my head to hit the ground. I raised things a few inches
to really help get things higher.

A lot of people can clear tech inspection
but are not only violating the two inch rule when on track, but a even above
the hoop overall when on track. I didn't want to fool myself into safety. I
don't think it costs me too much in drag (as sleek as an F5 is already).
All a matter of comfort. I am paranoid. I don't want to give away my life
insurance yet nor cash in my disability payments yet. Most people seem to be
fine in most production F5s. At 6'3" plus, I was interested in a little more
room. (And it is not a winter without cutting the car at least in half once).

This brings up a
question for the potential-newbie here... Are the
roll hoop rules in the GCR
sufficient? If you pass the 2" /
broomstick tests, are you ok, or should one
shoot for more?
