Who cares if someone has a hot engine is that part of racing who has the best

The problem with the 494Rave is the number of variations that were made. If I 
recall, there are 5 different heads and 3 different cylinders available for the 
494Rave. Mixing and matching these parts could open Pandora's box. It would be 
too easy to create high compression versions, using "legal" parts. That was the 
main reason the 494Rave was not legalized. I see that there are two different 
cylinders and 3 different heads for the 493. I don't know if mxing parts would 
create a "hot" version. 
Since it's relatively easy to identify the "proper" mix of parts for a specific 
year motor, maybe the rules should specify that all engine parts must be the 
"right" combination, as specified in the Rotax manual for a specific sled. With 
some work on the wording, the intent to prevent "hot" versions could be 
accomplished.
