Lee, the counter shaft rotates in the same direction as the crank, it has to 
"pull" on the top of axle sprocket in order for the car to go forward.... If 
you want reverse, then it would "pull" on teh bottom of the axle sprocket.  You 
can shoot pool with a rope....
