Chris, I understand the physics, it just, like you said, I envision playing
pool with a rope. I am a linear thinker,
so the idea of pushing the power forward to drive something behind, made me
scratch my head.
This was more anecdotal than anything.

Lee, the counter shaft rotates in the same direction as the crank, it has to "pull" on
the top of axle sprocket in order for the car to go forward.... If you want reverse, then it would
"pull" on teh bottom of the axle sprocket. You can shoot pool with a rope....
