I am using a drift box it gives me lap times and a plotted course I can over lay each lap on my computer and look at each corner Then I look at my video from my helment cam and i can tell just what happened on what lap. I can tell from the info if a lap in a corner was faster or slower then watch the video I think this is knocking seconds off my lap time. Other things it gives me is 0-60 / 0-100 braking in feet/ lateral g's/ the system up dated 4 times a second it cost about 600.00 and the camera was about 900.00 when all said and done. I can tell if I hit an apex or not. They say real accuracy within a foot or so. There are higher priced units than can do inches as well as dual gps antennae for yaw recording. The data is recorded via accelerometers every 1/100 to 1/400ths of a second. This data is interpolated with gps data at 1/4-1/5 of a second intervals. You can do instantaneous acceleration or acceleration over any distance. Just drag to a spot on the map. To download the data files and software is free from most all of the companies. I just played with them until I found what seemed the best. ----- Original Message ---- From: Dave Phaneuf <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [email protected] Sent: Thursday, December 21, 2006 10:20:14 AM Subject: [F500] Digatron or Mychron 4? Jim, When it draws the trackmap on the computer what kind of variations in the line will it pick up? Inches, feet, yards? Do you know the recording rate, will it record a position every 1/10 of a second, 1/100 second?? Will the software do the calculations to tell you what kind of accelerations the car is creating at a certain spot?
