Cory, I shipped my Super Kart back in early November from NY to CA. The crate was 8'x4'x2', and 400 lbs. Yellow Freight did it for right around $400. Same deal as you, commercial adress to commercial adress, no lift gate, and like I said, $25 a pound insurance. Fedex freight was a pain in the ass!!! For any decent rate, you have to drop it at a depot center. I think without the body mounted, you can get a F500 pretty small... Wasn't there a specialized shipper that does racecars somewhere??? CR

I had a very preliminary discussion with FedEx Freight about shipping a "crate of car parts". The prelim estimate that they gave me was around $650. That was commercial location to commercial location, with no lift required for pick up or delivery. They will go residential on one end only for a fee, and send trucks with lifts for an additional fee. I called them in Dec, so the price was before their most recent increase. I also need to get a lot of details straight with them before I'm confident that I know the true cost. I'm planning to call them again in the next few weeks and will post again once I have more info. It really sucks that Consolidated Freight went bust. --------------------------------- Have a burning question? Go to Yahoo!
