Now imagine a big fat woman was to sneak up and jump up and down on the rear frame rails. She would likely be able to compress the rear cans about 1/2 inch, if she were truly bovine she might be able to squash it even more.

The wheels will have more travel because of the ratios in the suspension linkages and then you also have some spring in the tire itself.

Anyways, to start I think I'll locate some better rubber material, i.e. natural gum rubber, and I'll play with piston design a bit.
