Edward,we have no imperical data (wind tunnel or CFD) regarding this body
having worked with Jay Novak over the years (we build the Novakar
bodies, but only the top body on the Rakavon) and doing a lot of reading and
having a reasonable eye for what looks good and having designed /built a
few other body kits and overal race car bodies I think i have enough
background to undertake a project like this. True, high noses are to
promote air flow to the front wing however I don't see how the high nose is
going to hurt anything either and one can ,and I assume would ,put a
splitter on the bottom of the nose to help balance the aero. the nose itself
was not intended to balance the air flow neccescarily by itself,And the fit
of the body panels on most of the kbs cars is not good therefore any
percieved aero advantage to the design is lost as far as I can tell.
This body was designed for easy access to the car by one person.
To offer a smooth clean design that can be adapted to frame mods for larger
drivers.
To exploit aero dynamics within the rules.
To offer a more modern image to the current crop of cars.
I've recieved a lot of positive response, but you can't please everybody,
it is what it is!

Dave
I have a couple of dumb questions. Has this bodywork or a scale model
thereof been wind tunnel tested? I am on the sports racer site a bit and
they go extensively into aerodynamics. It would seem the shark nose ala F1
etc was designed to be used with a front wing and we don't have them on
F500s.(yet) Wouldnt the slope nose of something such as the Red Devil or a
Novakar front end design be more practical? How about the KBS/Invader nose
as is with a splitter on the front and sides with the sides slotted for
the suspension pieces? Do you have any airflow figures that show the nose
as shown balances off the extended tail and diffuser downforce.

PS: Chris--do you really need aero in Solo? I thought the speeds were
restricted.

Chris,i don't see why it won't work it's just that the long tail and the
proximity to the diffuser help work together, there are a couple chassis
out there that run the tail shorter than the diffuser.

Should I use poly/e-glass oars or go for the carbon?
Thanks Dave, do you think the diffuser will work with Mike's bodywork?
Thanks...

Chris, yes the diffuser will be available seperately in poly/e-glass
foam
core $370.00 in carbon/epoxy- honeycomb$650.00,you will have to supply
the
oars however.
