I just dug out my SkiDoo manual copy and the 494 spec
reads "Opening 135 deg - 64 deg", "Closing 509" (?!?).


Word of warning: the file below is about 471k. You
might want to pass on opening it if you are on
dial-up.

Using a protractor and marking on tape stuck to the
primary, here is what I observed the valve doing:

begins opening - 12 deg ATDC (yes, ATDC)
fully open     - 57 deg ATDC
begins closing - 167 deg ATDC
fully closed   - 210 deg ATDC

And yes, I triple checked the direction of rotation of
the crank by pulling the starter cord. It's almost as
if the rebuilder assumed the incorrect rotation
direction on the crank.
