In all fairness, it was closer to 120 degrees, but
well outside the +/- 5 degree range that would allow
the engine to start and run.

I'm not sure what the valve plate itself was made of,
but it was pretty thin and fairly rigid for a material
that thin. Maybe some of the more experienced engine
folks would know about stainless, alloy, etc.

As far as aftermarket valves or carbon fibre, what I
recall from the GCR about engine parts was OEM only.
Period. I haven't looked at the Solo rules lately.
