Holy crap! That thing was about 180 degrees off? Jeeze! I am glad you
finally got it fixed. Not having torn into a rotax, yet, are those
valves stainless steel, plain ole sheet metal, or what? I have seen
aftermarket ones in carbon fibre, but am sure they wouldnt be legal for
scca.

My rebuilt 494 finally fired up this afternoon
following an adjustment to the rotary valve. For
anyone who's curious, I whipped up a quick web page to
show how far off the rotary valve was at:

Profuse thanks to everyone who helped troubleshoot the
situation. So many people on the list helped that
trying to name everyone individually would inevitably
lead a serious omission.
