The main reason we do that is because there's no need, so far, for
such a system. For now everything works out well keeping everything in
the distribution. This won't go on forever, though, as the libraries
grow, but for now it works. For your purposes right now of just
learning Factor, pastebinning seems to be working. Don't be afraid to
put a little trivial thing in extra/; you can call it a "demo".
