Vedic wisdom, whether it is voiced by Guru Dev or simply quoted from
the extensive Vedic literature (which is entirely consistent with
what Guru Dev said and therefore obviates the need to publish the
sayings of Guru Dev, as beautiful as they are), is certainly
important to read, but the ability to understand and appreciate this
wisdom is based on the level of awareness that one has. That's why
the prerequisite for diving into Vedic study is expansion of
awareness through TM.

Your suggestion that Guru Dev did not envision a movement is
laughable; why do you think he left the forest, where he was
perfectly happy? Guru Dev came out to bless the householder world
with the bliss he found as a monk, and the name "Maharishi" was
bestowed by the people grateful that MMY came out to bring Guru Dev's
blessings to the world.
