I think spaces themselves are considered characters, so if you just make a huge block of text it can maybe cram more in.
Speaking as a techie, that's not true. Speaking as a tech writer, that's a good way to ensure that no one ever reads it. I think it's fine as it is. It says that the forum welcomes opinions of any sort. That alone is rare enough in this world.
