The thing I think that is difficult to understand from a logical standpoint about Maharishi is that he is a kshatriyta, a warrior, and hence tasked with the safeguarding of the purity of vedic knowledge. So he does things that may seem incomprehensible to us. I recall him saying before the 911 that there was a great battle between good n evil going on, already.
